Editorial and Graphic Design
My experience of working for the school media at my secondary school, lit a flame of interest in journalism and graphic design. My experience include working as a Graphic Designer for 'China Boating' magazine in Shanghai, Westworld UWE student magazine, and as a 'Lifestyle' section Editor at 'WesternEye' student newspaper. I alo desiged numerous posters, book covers and business cards. I'm a proffesional user of InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. |
Posters and Cover design I often design freelance for posters and book covers. I believe that as a good Designer I should provide my clients not what they want, but what they need. I design for their audience. I use InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. |

'China Boating' Magazine, Shanghai (2009) Working as a graphic designer in China was an interesting experience for me. Not only I had to deal with the language barrier (my Art Director didn't speak English so the only language we could communicate was a pen and a paper and Photoshop). But also I realised that my concepts and aesthetics don't fit Chinesse design - their style and design perception, way of looking and reading is different. So, I had to immerse into Chinesse art, visit galleries, analyse their magazines, I even learned calligraphy, to understand their perception aesthetics. |

'Lifestyle' Editor (2008-2009) I worked for ten month as an Editor for the 'Lifestyle' section at 'WesterEye' newspaper. My main jobs were to decide on and plan content for ten pages spread of the section, to manage tasks and a team of freelancers, and take a responsibility of working for the publishing deadline. I also wrote some articles and layout the content. I worked with InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrators, and provided informal workshops on the software to my team. |
