Web Interface Design
In my web interface design, I focus on the audience and user engagement. I intend my websites to be user-friendly and easy to navigate, interesting aesthetically, logical, but not structural.
My background is in interactive media, and I'm professional in using software such as: DreamWeaver, RapidWeaver, Flash (AS2 & AS3), Wordpress and Yolasite. I'm efficient in WISYWYG web design as well as CSS and HTML.
My experience include working on my own web projects, contribution as a user interface designer, or teaching and supporting students' interactive media projects. I also contributed and design some Alternate Reality Games.
![]() | 'Who Are You?' - Documentation Website (2011) 'Who Are You?' installation is remediated on a website. The website shows some videos of the installation, photographs and interviews. It also involves some elements showing the process, stage-by-stage how the project was being developed, starting from the concept to the final exhibition. The website was aimed to be shown off-line, so it's developed in Flash (AS2). The interface is simple and clear, it focuses on the content and spotlights the actual artwork. The website aesthetics reveal the style of the installation: white, plain, dimensionless. |

![]() ![]() | User Interface for 'Happiness' (2010) I designed five websites for an Alternate Reality Game 'Happiness', related to sex trafficking, aimed at teenagers. The project was developed for Andrea Hasselager at Pervasive Media Studio, in Bristol. The player browses through the websites and find some hidden hints, solve puzzles or link to other pages. Regarding my fragile subject and the age of the audience, I created a collection of websites that look scary but surreal, reveal painful story but also encourage to solve the mysterious. Even creepy and painful, they could b playful and encouraging. Another goal was to make them user friendly and easy to navigate. therefore, even though some of them reveal game-like aesthetics, they involve clear instructions and conventional elements merged into the content, such as the menu bar on the image on the left, or a clock in the form of a loosing-petals flower. The website was created in Flash (AS2) and is animated. I also provided all graphic elements and photography. ![]() |

'Aiming for Gold', designed for Pumpkin TV, is a resource for teaching and learning about the transformation of East London. I designed the user-friendly interface and interactions of the Alternate Reality Game. The user browses on various maps showing East London, watches videos, looks for information, solves puzzles and report back to a boss. They jump from one level to another. All links are clearly visible on the website. The website also has a detailed resource bank, which gives a teacher an overview of the resources on the disc. The website is animated, includes videos and sound effects. The website was created in Flash (AS2). I also provided all graphic elements and photography. 'Aiming for Gold' was nominated for Bett Awards 2011 for teaching and learning resources. ![]() |
